Well, I took my son to see it yesterday and was impressed. Very funny and enjoyable. It was, I think, better than the second, which I thought was good but could have been better (I was spoiled by the first one). The third measures up, though. We both loved it. Aidan didn't even fall asleep during the movie, which he has done often in the past.
